Carla came over today to work with George. She said he did a really good job. She left some exercises at the house for him to practice. She was saying that on one of the exercises he has to close his eyes. It was funny cause she said he would start to fall asleep. Hehe.

I packed up lunch to take to the park. It was such a nice day! After lunch we walked around a bit. There was a girl that George was watching while he was eating and she was doing excersices on the curb, it’s funny cause when we were on our walk, he wanted to be in the same spot. We did some leg exercises, then he was ready to go. We went for a drive around Sandy then went to cash his checks at the bank. Tom and Fran gave him a check for his BD :) I nice man gave him his cane when we were leaving the bank (He always forgets it). The girls at the bank laughed telling him, "He always forgets it”. We came home, sat on the patio and had a drink then went to look at the pond and then sat on the swing for a bit. Geroge called and talked to Sharon before I left. We will probably get on Skype on Friday and talk to her online! That way he can see everything is ok.

I was gone the first week in March on vacation and worked at the hospital the following Week. Sharon was here and got to spend that time with George! On the 12th I came over, George had a physical therapist (Carla) come over and work with him. He did a great job ;) After wards, Sharon took George and I out to lunch at Ruth’s Diner. The patio was closed so we couldn’t eat outside; it was a really nice day though. Thanks Sharon!

Tuesday, March 2
I've been here since Saturday. We had a party for him on Sunday. He really went to town on the cake cutting long strips and little boxes. He then cut and served pieces to everyone. We laughed so hard. He has been pretty tired for 3 days. But yesterday it was really sunny so he wanted to go for a walk. He walked the length of his street. And I pushed him around the rest of the block and we even went to look at his back door neighbor's house, the one hes always curious about. She was outside so we got to say hello. And today I took him out to lunch and he perked up a bit. Afterwards he wanted to go for a drive so we went up toward the mountains and drove around a neighborhood with big houses. He really likes big houses. Then we drove down into the valley and I just followed his directions. He knew exactly where we were at all times. He even pointed out his old dentist's office, where we went about 3 years ago. We went to see Bill, his old friend who raises chickens and sells fresh eggs. When he saw Bill, he said, "Hello Bill!" I was surprised he remembered his name.

George was asleep on the couch when I came over today. We went and combed his hair, shaved and brushed his teeth. He was kind of tired today and really quiet. I made him some lunch and he liked it! He said it tasted homemade :) (I had him make his own coffee today) in the other picture he is excercising. We went for a drive afterwards up to Snowbird to watch the skiers. It was a really nice day, George kept falling asleep so we came back home. It took awhile to get going today.

Today when I came over George was asleep on his bed. (He was dressed and had his coat on, and later he said he had it on because it was cold). He woke up and got his shoes on; he combed his hair and shaved. He went into the kitchen to have a cup of coffee and said he didn’t feel like going anywhere today, he said he felt tired. I made him some lunch at home, and then he went to the couch to rest. I cleaned while he was sleeping.

George was awake and reading the paper when I came over today! He went to dinner last night for his Birthday with Dennis, the boys, Tracy, Ed and their kids. Today I wanted to take him to lunch for his Birthday, by the time he was ready to go it was about 2:30. The place I took him to closed at 3:00. We ordered take out (The waitress there gave George some ice cream with an umbrella). Dennis bought a pie last night and today we (Dennis, myself, and Ryan) sang Happy Birthday to him and had some pie. I didn’t get his weight or BP today.

(Friday) George wanted to go out today! While he was eating, I asked him if he wanted to go for a drive when he was done, he nodded his head yes. On our way to the mountains (That’s where he wanted to go) he said he wanted to get his haircut, we did that then went for a drive. He’s getting better! Yay!

George has been more awake today (Wednesday) than he has been for quite awhile. (Course he didn’t get up till around 3:00) It could be that he’s just having a good day. I know he was tired again yesterday. After he got dressed and ready, we went to the kitchen to get him something to eat. He even helped me finish the Valentine house. He was awake for quite awhile today. I was able to get his weight and he was 91 lbs. only a pound loss from last week, pretty good considering he hasn’t been eating much lately. The nurse came today from Care Source to evaluate him. Dennis set up the camera to help keep a better eye on him too.

I didn't come over last week because George has had a UTI. I did go over to visit, but he was super tired. He has been sleeping most of the day and been really weak. I came over on Monday and helped to get him dressed, shaved and then got him something to eat. During lunch I had him put some tiles on the Valentine house to keep him awake and involved in something. He fell asleep and I could not wake him up, I tried everything. Dennis called the Dr's and someone will be coming out to evaluate him.

His BP was 96/58 (I don't remember exactly, but it was within that range). He was sleeping when I took it. I couldn't get a weight that day.

Today George was still weak and really tired. Dennis had to help me get him up today, George kept telling me “Ok dear, thank you, thank you” and “Ok, ok” when I would go in and ask him to wake up. Dennis and I got him up, changed the bed and George took a shower and got dressed. It took him quite awhile though, he kept falling asleep. He finally made it to the kitchen, I gave him something to eat, and he didn’t want to leave the table and kept falling asleep. He kept telling me “Why do you want me to wake up?” and “What do you want from me?” He wasn’t in a good mood and just super tired, he has been using the walker in the house when he does get up though. I was over last night and he fell in his bathroom, he’s not able to get up like he used to, I had to help him up. He needs someone there all the time now in case he falls. Dennis made an appointment for him to go to the Dr's tomorrow. He’s so hard to read, sometimes he bounces right back, but he has been really tired.
His weight was 91 lbs. (I think the scale is a little off though). His BP was 135/83

I wasn’t sure what to write for today, George was really quite, tired and weak today. I couldn’t get him to do anything! Not even a drive or even to just look at pictures. Nothing. I finally had to leave after about 2 ½ hours because he just did not want to do anything, He kept telling me NO when I would ask him anything. He just wanted to sleep.
