George was asleep on the couch when I came over. We went back and finished getting ready, shaving, etc. When he was ready, we had a lunch skype with Sharon, except I couldn't find the camera! She couldn't see us so we were using my phone so she could talk to him, then her phone died! Not a good skype day. I did find the camera later on, so next week it will be the normal skype session :) George took a little nap after skype and when he woke up I had a hard time getting him out, he wanted to look outside but not go outside ;) We went to see Yao his barber today and he finally got a haircut! It looks so nice. He will look nice for Sharon next week ;) We went up and watched the skiers for a bit too.

Wednesday March 28,

I can't find my copy of the blog for Wednesday but George was tired all day. He didn't get a good nights sleep.

Monday, March 26, 2012

It was a cold windy day today. When I came over, Dennis was home and was telling me that George hasn't been sleeping very well. He didn't get a lot of sleep last night and while he was getting ready in the bathroom, I left the room and when I came back in, he was in bed. He did not want to get up so I let him sleep. I thought maybe it would be for an hour, but he was super tired. I cleaned, straightened up...I was getting ready to write the blog and leave when he decided to wake up. I fixed him some lunch and then I had to leave.

Sharon left yesterday afternoon. The two of them had lots of fun while she was here. She takes him to the funnest places :)
Today was the woodcarving show at Wheeler Farm. We actually had lunch outside on the patio before we left. George went out there, so I brought his lunch to him, I didn't think he would want to go out there cause it was windy. He came in after awhile, it got too windy. After he finished lunch, we went to the woodcarving show. There were lots of cool carvings. It was a good show. We went for a drive and saw some kids in baseball uniforms playing catch in the park, we stopped and watched them for a few minutes. When I pulled up in the driveway, he opened his eyes and said "Ohhhh, where..." in that fun high pitched voice and then said "Oh Thank you, thank you, thank you. I guess he was glad to be back? ;) He came in and actually layed on the couch. I covered him with a blanket. He was tired today.

All three of us (Sharon, George and myself) had lunch while we watched Sumo. After Sumo was over with, we went to visit my Dad and Nona so my Dad could show George and Sharon his wood work, and what he was going to enter in this years competition. He showed them all of his carvings he has done over the years. When George was sitting in the living room/kitchen, he saw a couple small pots on top of the entertainment center and was saying they looked like saki containers and that you just "Have to put them in warm water, to get it hot." He was saying they were "The old fashioned kind." We talked to them for a bit then we went to Micheal's to get some crafts for the house. We got some seasonal flowers to put in tree, and some things for him to do too. Thanks Sharon.

highlights from my march visit

Wednesday night: we watched American Idol with Jody. Dad pointed at Steven Tyler and said, Is that a woman or man? When Jody said which one, he said, "that guy, I mean is that a woman or man"? He had fun joking about him.

Thursday was Dr, Dentist, hearing aid day. Dad was up early so I scheduled a 1200 appointment at the dentist, then took him to Costco to get his hearing aids cleaned and adjusted, then at 3 he had his Dr. appointment. He did really well going to all those places. He always remembers everyone by face and looks happy to see them.

Friday, I took dad to a Gem and Rock Fair in Spanish Fork (thanks Jody for telling us about it). Dad seemed to have fun. There was a man wearing a dinosaur bone costume who kept "biting" us. We won the special prize on a spin the wheel contest: 4 rocks! Dad took a long time sorting through the bin and found just the right ones. There was a lot of sorting and choosing of rocks at various booths. Too many for me, but he seemed to like it. it was a big place with lots of things to see. He ran into someone who recognized him from his gardening days. he said he used to talk with dad a lot about plants. There was a sifting station too (like the mining thing at Snowbird). But there were actual crystals from the ground (not seeded). So dad found one big one and a few little ones. He was disappointed since there were only a few and only one color. He got impatient with the person helping us and poured the rest of the sand on the sifter by himself. He knew how to do it I guess! Dad ate a whole sloppy joe sandwich. I guess it was good. And he talked a lot, but I couldn't understand much. He looked like he was lecturing about the size of rocks and other details. He likes to be an authority. Another highlight was when he picked up a big rock (bigger than his head) and lifted it up and down showing off how strong he was. It was actually a pumice stone so it was lighter than it looked, but it was still heavy.

Saturday, we went to Ogden to see Sarah. She's going to Japan today. We went to a Chinese Buffet place for dinner and Dad filled two plates really high. He ate a lot from one plate but he was pocketing his food again so I don't think much of the food went into his stomach. But he had fun picking out his own food. He walked around the food tables pushing the wheelchair with one hand. We watched half of the Jazz game at Mamiyo's and when we were ready to leave, he said, "it's not over yet!" And asked if the Jazz were winning. When we got home, Dennis had recorded the game so we watched it again there. They went into overtime so it was an exciting game. Sumo starts today.

Sharon got in yesterday and told George I was coming today. When I got there he was all ready to go! We went to lunch at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta (Thanks for the coupon Sharon.) We went for a drive after wards, it's a cloudy day so we went to the Pet store after our drive. He liked looking at the baby gerbil's. I don't know why, but he likes to look at the logs and stuff for the cages. He bought a white stuffed kitten with big eyes. It's cute. When we got home, he took a nap right when he sat down.
(There are four more pics of today on photobucket)

Today when George was ready, I picked out some cards for him to choose an activity from. He had eaten earlier but it didn't look like much, I picked some places out to go to lunch too. He chose Hires for lunch and the Senior Center again today. He likes to ride bikes ;) By they time we got there we only had about a half an hour, he wanted to do more but we had to leave, lunch took a long time. We came home and he got in the shower. He's doing really well considering the time change. I mentioned at lunch that Sharon was coming tomorrow.
(I was going to add a picture of George at the Senior Center, but the upload isn't working, sorry :/)

When George was up and ready, he had a skype lunch with Sharon. He wasn't to into it today, I think maybe he thought he was going to see her sooner anyway. There was some confusion over the calender. After a small nap, he went outside and looked at the fish, it's a really nice day today! We left a little early to go to the podiatrist, we took the long way to enjoy the weather. George was saying "This is the first time for me" as we were walking in. They have moved to a new building and the girl that is usually there doesn't work there anymore :( and Kr. Kunz decided he wanted to retire, so lots of changes. His new podiatrist seems really nice. His name is Dr. Oaks. We went up to Sugarhouse Park to look at the ducks but when we got there he said "Let's go" so we went for a little drive and then went to get something to eat. He wasn't too happy that it was taking a long time. I was telling him that they needed to cook it. I went to the store when we got back.
Thursday March 8, 2012

George slept all night after sleeping a lot yesterday. I cleaned while he got dressed. After I fixed him some breakfast/lunch, I tried to get him to finish one of his small canvas' he kept falling asleep. I've given him some vitamin C along with his other pills the last couple days. He's been sneezing. We just hung out at home today and later we watched American Idol together and had a glass of wine.

Wednesday March 7, 2012

After I fixed breakfast this morning, I was telling George we needed to go grocery shopping. We were sitting on the couch and he said "Whhhhat for!" and "Whhhhhy!" when I told him we need to go out. So we just sat there for a few minutes, I was showing him pictures but he was agitated. We just hung out for a few minutes and I had him do some leg exercises. I went and got some cards of choices of things to do. He picked going to the Senior Center then said "Let's go." He rode the bike for about 45 minutes and stretched a little more and did the resistance bands. When we were leaving it was c-o-l-d...we went to get something to eat and have some coffee. When we were driving home, he said "Is that our dog?" I was starting to say no, but when I looked, it sure was! Zimbabwe and Ryan were going for a walk. He's so observant! We came home, he took a shower (I forgot the other day) and he took a really long nap and was napping on and off. I had him get to bed around 1:00am.

Tuesday March 6, 2012

George woke up early today. After I helped him get ready, we had breakfast together and then I left to go on a couple errands. I came back with Panda Express for lunch and when I brought him his lunch he said "Ohhh, ohhh, ohhh" I think he liked it ;) The toilet over flooded later on and he was looking everywhere, making sure there was no water anywhere. It was windy and over cast today and snowed later on in the evening. He was in bed by midnight. He's been getting up and ready on his own.

Monday March 5, 2012

It was such good weather today! It was snowing a couple days ago and is really nice today. I mentioned that I would be staying at the house this week while Dennis and Trevor are skiing in Colorado. I asked George what he wanted to do, he said he wanted to go to the mountains. We drove up the canyons then down around by the U of U area and then out to lunch at the Corner Bakery on foothill. When we came back, I let him take a nap and told him I had to do some errands. He went to bed around 11-12ish.

Friday, March 2, 2012

When I walked in, George was on the floor picking things up. I took him back so he could shave and get ready to go out. I mentioned he should go to the Senior Center today since he hasn’t been exercising and getting out this week. We drove to the Senior Center and he did lots of stretching, rode the bike, and worked with the resistance bands. He did a good job. We came home and I fixed him something to eat. It was “Too cold” outside. He started to fall asleep, so I had him get on the couch to take a nap and covered him with a blanket.

Wednesday February 28, 2012

The weather wasn’t too great today. George was awake but in bed when I came over; it took him a little bit to wake up. When he was ready he had a lunch skype with Sharon and David today along with the cats and the musical animals ;) He was pretty quiet but they talked for a long time. He must have been really interested. That’s so cool they can do that.
