October 2, 2009

Wow time flies! It’s the end of the year already. George mentioned that he had just barely gotten up. (It’s been that way this week). I told him about his Podiatry apt. today. I forgot to remind him on Wednesday, and I guess he got a reminder call yesterday. He was kind of confused about that. I gave the Dr’s office Dennis’ number and my number to call instead of the house number. He was in a talkative mood today! We also went and made an apt. for Dr. Baker on Monday. I think it will make him feel better. (It’s just a check up regarding his bruise, don’t worry).

Today George got up a little late; I came over a little later too. We ended up doing laundry on that day, because I’m not sure when he is leaving and I wanted to have it done before he left for Minnesota. Today was cold, it snowed!

(I thought I posted Monday already). I don’t remember what we did on that day, I do know his weight was 98lbs. and his BP was…107/72 I think. Oh ya, I think that is the day we looked at pictures of Minnesota on the computer. He liked looking at the pictures and is looking forward to going. We went to lunch and took a drive out in the Draper area. We were on some frontage road that I’ve never been on and he said he had never been there either. That’s all I remember.

Jody,
You've posted a lot here lately! Thank you so much :) What a great idea to show him pictures of MN. The weather has been really bad (50 degrees and rainy ) lately. The plane reservation is for Oct 20 - 28. The temps are supposed to be in the mid 50s. From your pictures it looks like the weather out there is perfect. I hate to take him away from that... but I hope he'll have fun regardless of the weather. David's father is looking forward to his visit and is planning a fish fry. And if the weather is good he may take him out on the lake and go fishing!

Thank you for talking it up and helping him get excited about the trip. I think it'll be fun even if we mostly have to stay indoors.

By the way, on Monday when you see Dr. Baker, could you have him get a flu shot? (maybe check with Dennis first to see if he already got one?). That's a great idea to bring him to Dr. Baker. I was going to schedule his 3 month check up when I'm out there, maybe after we get back from the trip or the day before we leave?

These blogs are so thoughtful and I agree with that one poster awhile back that you put a lot of time into this! I hope others can see how kind you have been to my dad and us through these blogs. I would think a LOT of people would love to have a caregiver like you :)

Ohh Thanks Sharon! Ya I'm not sure what that other person was looking for when he found this blog. It was nice of him to say though.

The weather out here hasn't been that nice! It was last week but now it's in the 50's here too! It's snowed, rained and is just yucky. (Trevor has actually been skiing already)! You won't be taking your dad away of the temps. here. The fish fry sounds fun. I'm sure he will have fun out there. It's nice of David's dad to plan all that for him, how fun!

It seems like I've posted a lot lately and I guess I have, it just looks like more when I don't keep up on it. I need to do it after each day. Oh and he did get a flu shot today, and he doesn't need to go back to the Dr's, he has a check up in 3 months. He has blood work to do a week before (Dec 28th) and the apt. is for Jan 4th? Somewhere around there. You can change it if you would like to take him.
Thanks Sharon,

Jody

Hi, I changed the comments to pop up instead of on the actual blog. You can change it if you would like to. I thought it just took up a lot of space and harder to see his days.
I'm glad you can post now!
