Today I am at home getting ready for my trip :) I will see George and everyone else tonight. It's Blake's Birthday today! Everyone is getting together and going out for dinner.

George had a check that he wanted to cash today. Tom and Fran were over the day before and he wanted the sushi for lunch that they brought over. We sat outside and had lunch. It was pretty warm today. We went to the store after lunch to cash his check. He saw his neighbor Linda there. He pointed "That's my neighbor" they talked for a little bit. My car registration is up so we just went for a drive around the Sandy neighborhoods. I didn’t want to get pulled over.
(Oh ya! Remember he lost his favorite cane? We looked all over and asked at the stores. The last time we were at the liquor store, the cashier that always helps George mentioned that she had it for him. Lol he said “That looks just like mine”).

When I came over today George had an idea of what he wanted to do! :) He was showing me some rocks and said he would like to “Go up to the mountains to that place and get some more rocks”. We went up to Snowbird and first stopped at the deli there and got a sandwich, it was huge! We shared one; he chose a turkey sandwich it was about 6inches thick! We ate outside and it was kind of cool and breezy (Good thing for the coffee). The girl at the shop told George he could have the large bag. (He was going to get the small one). She was really nice, giving him the large for the small price. She said "Since he really likes it he can have the big one" We bought another glass jar and he found a lot of big pretty rocks. There was a tourist that was there and wanted George to show him how to do it. He took a picture of him and his rocks.
It was nice and the weather warmed up. I forgot my phone to take pics :)

Today George was distracted so I took out the cards and he picked out two of them. We took them with us to remind him in case he forgot. We went to lunch at the sushi place on Highland Dr. (They changed the name, same owners). We then went to Sunset coffee afterwards and he said he didn’t want to go because he already had coffee. I showed him the cards that he picked and told him that’s what he chose and asked him to decide on something else. He had to go home first. I left a little afterwards.

We went to Park City again today. He didn't get up til around 1ish. I got there at about 1:30 and he was just coming out of his room. We had lunch outside by the pond. I asked what he wanted to do and he did the thing with his arm where you can tell he is showing you the jumps at Park City. It was a good day when we left the house, but dark cloudy windy and rainy when we left Park City.
Ryan is getting ready to leave in the morning for CA. He will be going to school and taking classes to be a sushi chef. :)

Wednesday 8-25-10Today I had George let me know what he wanted to do. It took him awhile, he was distracted a lot. He finally said he would like to go to Idaho. I told him it was kind of late to drive all the way to Idaho. He said “Oh it doesn’t take that long”. He said “I want to go to that little town, ya know where they jump”. I said “Park City?” he said “Oh ya! Park City, OK lets go”. He has really wanted to go up there so I thought we would take advantage of that. We saw a professional ski jumper; it was awesome :) on the way down the mountain from the Olympic Park we saw someone walking up the hill. He said “How the hell did he get all the way up here?! Then he said “100 years from now this will all be houses”.
Monday 8-23-10
George was into cleaning so I thought we would make this a cleaning day. He started out by cleaning his bathroom. He vacuumed the living room even taking the heater vent off and cleaning in there! I think he has the cleanest heater vent in town! He cut all the long carper strings off with scissors. I did his laundry while he was doing that. We took a break for lunch and he loves the veggie soup! Me too! It's really good :) He vacuumed out the couch too. We got skype hooked up and he was talking to Sharon and David when I left! :)

Today George talked to Sharon for a little bit on the phone. He got his laundry in the wash before we left. We went to lunch at the Jasmine and then to get his haircut. We had to come home and then go back again to get a haircut. (I put his laundry in the dryer so it would be ready to put away when we got home). He really likes that place!! He really wanted to go. I guess that's a good thing huh? When we came home he put his clothes away and then got in the shower.

I came over today and we worked on George’s rock collection. We started with the big ones first
and took them outside and broke them open to see what was inside ;) Some were pretty; others were still really dark and thick. We went inside and got all his rocks from Snowbird separated so it will be easier to put them on the board another time. We did get some done and then his fingers were starting to hurt. It was a partly rainy/overcast day. (I took some pictures but I can’t find my picture card. I’ll post them when I have them).

George was still asleep when I came over today. After he was up and ready he called and talked to Sharon a little bit. I made him some lunch at home, he was hungry! He had a check he needed to cash so we went to the bank. Inside he saw some boost at the end of the isle, He pointed to it and said “It’s good for you” :) He bought a couple things after wards too. He said he would like to go to the cemetery so we went to the store and bought flowers then went up. (We went to the liquor store first. He called it something else, it was funny but I can’t think of what he said)!
I’m always so impressed at how he wants to take flowers to everyone. I just sat back and let him do his thing. He cleaned all the headstones and arranged the flowers really pretty and taking his time to make sure the flowers looked good :) I love it. He was hungry when we got home; I made him a snack before I left.
His weight today was 86 and his BP was 115/50. (I have a funny story about the cemetery that I can’t fit on here. I’ll tell you later).

It was a really nice day today. George wanted to go to Mt Fuji for lunch. “Let’s go to the place by the gas station”. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather. He mentioned he wanted to go to Park City to watch the ski jumpers. It was busy with a lot of jumpers and people watching. It was fun. :)

We went to cash George’s check today. When we were there he told me that he and the girl working there were going to go out and spend his money ;) We went for a drive after and ended up in construction. At least it was a semi cool day. After that we went to Incredible Pets to see all the new pets they have now. We looked at the fish, birds and puppies. They even had bunnies! We went to Rich’s Bagels after and he got a quiche. He kept saying that it wasn’t good but then taking big bites! He ate half the thing. I got him some water and he said “Water with this? I need coffee”.
His weight was 88 lbs. He gained 2 lbs! I'll get BP on Wednesday.

Mamiyo is back home now. (Sharon is too) I think we need to make it a monthly thing. It’s nice to have someone home with George during the day to keep him company. We drove up to Silver Lake today (This time we brought the wheelchair). We went all the way around the lake, stopped and watched someone catch a fish and enjoyed the pretty scenery. It was a really nice day up there. It was a little breezy and the sun kept going behind the clouds. After wards, we went to the Brighton Café before we came back down the mountain. We were going to eat outside, but it started to rain a little. He ordered a grilled cheese and ate half of it. LoL…I ordered a sprite for him and he walked back to where the drinks were and got a beer.

Today Sharon took George, Mamiyo and I went to the planetarium to see a show. It was fun,
both Sharon and I were tired during the show but George and Mamiyo stayed awake the whole time. We looked around afterwards. George got some rocks and a ball that changes colors when you throw it and Mamiyo got a ‘squishy’ ball. “This will be good for my hands when I’m just sitting”. They looked at the balls in the maze too (Not sure what to call that thing). It was a fun day!

We all went to Snowbird again today. (Sharon, George and me). George found some really cool
rocks today! It was funny cause he started at one spot and kept moving over. We watched the kids play and just hung out at Snowbird. He said he would like to go on the tram again just “Not today”. The weather was really nice but it started to rain a little, so we came home. When we got home, George found a rock that was just ‘his’. We all had to choose a rock that was just ‘ours’.
His weight was 92 lbs. and his BP was 120/62.

I didn’t come over today. George had an appointment at the dentist. He was there for about 4 hours! He has a nice smile now and is proud of it. :)

us. Thanks Sharon! We watched them for quite awhile. It was a nice day. Tom and Fran came to visit when we got home.
