When I came over today I couldn’t find George! He was sitting outside on the swing :) I sat out there with him for a minute then he said he hadn’t had anything to eat. He went in to find something. I had him make some coffee and I made him some lunch. After lunch, he talked to Sharon on Skype for awhile. He liked it today. Sharon couldn’t hear but when he saw her he said “Hi Sharon, its Dad, How are you? I’m OK”. When he was done talking to Sharon, we went outside and planted his last plant. He did some gardening in the yard too. He asked me to find some weed killer, so I looked all over in the garage and I told him there wasn’t any, but ya know he had to look too. He was looking all over and pulling out all sorts of things. Dennis said he has been real active this week. Today I had to pretty much follow him around. He was by the pond and poking around with a stick, I was asking him not to get to close. I told him it was dangerous where he was standing. He said “If I fall, I won’t drown”. I finally got him away from that area.

Today George came to the door in his robe. I was just walking up when he opened the door. It was late and he needed to eat. I made some lunch at home (Cause I knew it would take him awhile to get ready, and we needed to plant) and then we planted the plants he bought on Monday. It took him quite awhile to get going though. We went outside and he was going to sit down. He said “Just give me a minute”. I told him he hadn’t done anything yet. He had to do his thing today; he wouldn’t listen to what I had to say. You know how he can be ;) He was looking in the shed for tools, I guess my little shovel wasn’t enough ;) Once he finally had the tools he needed, and after some coaxing, he helped me plant his plants and flowers. He has one more plant to plant, and we will do that on Friday.
I forgot to do his weight and BP on Monday. When I took it today his Weight was 90 lbs. But I know that’s not right. He was about 95-96 last week. His BP was 118/63

George wanted to drive up 7200 So. He wanted to find someplace for lunch. He asked me to pull into the ‘shopping center’ we ended up at Carl’s Café there. They are only open for Breakfast and Lunch. (My Dad goes there a lot.) He liked it. He was looking at the building across the street and was telling me how many people had gone in and out since we had been there. We went to Home Depot after wards to pick up some plants to plant in the yard. George picked out some plants and two flowers. We were at Home Depot for awhile. We will plant on Wednesday.

This picture was taken last Friday. When I was over, Dennis had just bought some shaving cream. I put some on a piece of paper and got out a paintbrush, George and I 'painted' with the shaving cream. When he was done, he looked at it from all angles and said it looked like a sandstorm. He said he saw a smiley face in the middle of the 'sandstorm' too. He placed it 'just right' on the table.

I came over a little later today. We went to lunch at ihop. (They have free lunch for seniors from 2-10, and it was close). He really liked it! He had a strawberry crepe, strange choice for him huh? He said “If I eat this everyday I’ll get fat” The waitress walked by and he chuckled and whispered to me “She’s big; I hope she didn’t hear me”. They leave the coffee on the table. He had about 3 cups. We went to Cactus and Tropica’s afterwards. We looked around then sat on a bench to people watch, we did leg exercised too.

We went to lunch at Mt. Fugi; George was asking the waitress if he was there last week. He thought they remodeled or something. We went to the bank afterwards to cash his check and saw Tom and Fran. George talked to Sharon today on the computer. I stayed over afterwards and watched a movie. George got really mad at Ryan today! Poor guy. He gets confused of who the kids are sometimes. He’s been out in the yard a lot lately.

So, today was cleaning day. After lunch I asked George if he wanted to vacuum or dust, he chose to dust. It was cute cause he was dusting his carpet ;) He did a really good job at dusting though. We did his laundry too. He kept asking if we were going to send it out (His laundry). It took him awhile to realize that WE were going to do his laundry. Hisweightwas96 lbs. and his BP was 143/63.

Today George wanted to go to a drive in the mountains; we ended up going to Park City. On the way up we actually saw people on a sled being led by sled dogs; it was really cool to see that. We drove up to the Olympic Park but nothing was going on there, so we drove up into Park City, and then drove back to Salt Lake. We had a late lunch at a new place on foothill drive called Corner Café. There was a girl there that thought we looked alike, and thought I was his daughter! After lunch we took the rental car back and picked up my car. After I was done with my day with him, I stayed over for a bit (Since I was there already) to make sure everything was OK. Ryan came over, made George a steak for dinner, he didn’t like it. He was in the kitchen pouring his whisky on a plate and putting the steak on the plate with the whisky then in a pan to ‘marinate’ it. He almost put the pan in the microwave. Joy’s dog was over too, he really does not like that dog! He went to bed around 10:00. I watched a movie then went home. Ryan was over too.

Today it was snowing! I came over with a rental car (I’m getting mine fixed). I asked George if he liked it, he said “It’s an ugly color, I don’t like it”. It is a pretty ugly nauseating gold color. George was ready right as Carla the physical therapist came to see him for one last time. He did exercises with her, and then when she left I made lunch at home and after lunch I had George play with his Wii. He tried bowling and then golf.
(Dennis and Trevor are out of town in Ca. for a ski competition, Ryan and Blake have been helping out).

After George was ready to go he said he wanted to go for a drive. We went for a drive and then had lunch at ihop. We were in a complex with a few places to choose from and he said “Let’s go there”. I don’t know if he remembers going before or if he just liked the building. It was nice though cause he got his meal for free! It’s free everyday from 2-10pm for seniors. That was an added bonus.
His weight today was about 93 lbs. (I think). I’m not too sure about that scale anymore. His BP was in the 130/60 range.

George was still asleep when I came over today. I would be to though, it was cloudy and rainy and snowing. I fixed some lunch at home after he was able to talk to Sharon and David on the computer. While he was eating I said “That was cool huh?” (About seeing Sharon on the computer) He said “Yes, oh yes” he liked it! We almost got done with his painting that he was working on when I was there on Wednesday. I had to leave early, my Dad had some of his wood work in a competition and my step sister had a baby girl and I went to see her. I came back and picked George and Dennis up and took them to the competition. George did really well there. My Dad one a third place, a first place and another first place and best of division! I’m glad George liked it.

When I drove up to the house today, George was outside reading the paper :) He knew where he wanted to go to lunch today. We drove up 7200 So. He said “I’ve always wanted to try that place”. It was Teru Sushi, it was pretty good. He’s been wanting to go to Park City to watch the ski jumpers. I told him they don’t do that yet but when they do we will go watch them. We drove up the mountains to Brighton. We watched the skiers, not too many were up there that we could see. It was a nice day. The sun and the drive made us both really tired. When we came home he called and talked to Sharon. We tried to sign up for Skype and will try again on Friday. (He's been more talkative lately). :)

Today George said he wanted to go for a “Joy ride”. He wanted to go to Taco Bell for lunch; he ordered a shrimp taco and ate the whole thing. We went for a drive around the Millcreek area. Drives are always interesting with him. I always end up places I’ve never been before. We ended up where we could go straight or left to go up to the mountains. I asked him if he wanted to go left or straight, he said “No, No, No” he apparently didn’t want to go to the mountains. We ended up going to the liquor store on the way home. I had him start on an art project before I left. He was tired so we will finish it maybe on Friday. (It was colored pencils that turn to watercolor after you apply a wet brush to the canvas. There are 4 canvases, one for each season, he chose to do spring).

When I came over George was up and watching TV. I got over a little later than usual; it looked like a nice day so I was making lunch to have outside. I had George sit outside and start on a snack while I made his lunch (He really likes TGI Friday’s steak fajitas). It started to get kinda cold and cloudy so he came in. While we were eating it started snowing! Then it cleared up and we went to the bank to deposit some of his money, he didn’t want to go for a drive afterwards so we came home and it started snowing again, and it was sunny, go figure. We made the Easter house; it turned out really cute :) The weather was crazy today sunny one minute then snowing the next. We did some PT too. He did really well.
I took his weight and BP on Wednesday. His BP was 102/62 and his weight was 96lbs.
