George was still in bed when I came over! It's overcast so that could be why? While he was in the shower, I cleaned up a little and put some pictures on the tree. We had lunch at home and then we tried something I saw on Pinterest. It's an art project with crayons and canvas. The crayons are supposed to be lined up at the top, you tilt the canvas and then you use a blow dryer to melt the crayons so they run down the canvas...well, I have no idea how they kept the crayons on the canvas! They were all over the place. I finally just let him do it flat. (By the way if you need some useless trivia, yellow crayons do not melt.) I ended up getting out some paints after he was done blow drying and he painted over some of it. When I asked him after wards what it was, he laughed and said "It's an egg". He did this project for a long time. I got him a snack and showed him the 'picture tree', he had that sideways smile when I told him about it.

George was awake but still in bed today. He was tired today and not very talkative. When he was ready, he chose what he wanted to eat and had lunch with Sharon on skype. They talked for awhile and she was showing him pictures and the cats. We decorated his Birthday cake afterwards. He used lots of sprinkles and it turned out really cute :) We got on skype again and me, Dennis and Ryan sang Happy Birthday to George along with Sharon and David :) It was fun that they were able to celebrate with him too. (Dennis came home and took a lot of pictures of him decorating his cake.) He's tired today but has had a good week.

Today when I pulled up, George was outside reading the paper. We went inside to get ready for the day and then we went to lunch at Last Samurai downtown. He was saying that he didn't like the noodles but was sure eating them :) When we left the restaurant he said "I'm not going back." We parked at my place and then went over to the Leonardo. (Thank you Sharon) It was pretty cool but he kept falling asleep. It was a long day and when we got back he got in the shower and made his bed. When he was dressed, I showed him his Birthday announcement in the paper, he laughed and said, "Who did this?" I left it out on the coffee table for him to look at later.

He had a nice Birthday dinner with everyone last night at Salt Lake Noodle.

Sharon had a great idea today to make a cake! When George was ready, he had lunch and then we went to the store to get what we needed to make a cake. We got back and he doesn't have any cake pans at his house. I went back to the store to get some and when I came back George was confused. I told him I had to go back and why, but he was kind of obsessing about the cake pans, and he kept thinking I was telling him to 'go' instead of come in the kitchen to help. He helped to put the ingredients in and stir the batter. I think we will wait to frost it, maybe on Wednesday. He got some really pretty flowers with balloons from Sharon and David today too :)
HAPPY 95TH BIRTHDAY TOMORROW GEORGE!

George had a skype lunch with Sharon today. She was at home so he got to see the cats and David too :) After lunch he said he wanted to go "Up and around there." We went for a drive, he was telling me which way to go and then we went up to the mountains. He was pointing to the skiers at Solitude saying "Look, look" so we parked and went inside the lodge to have a drink. We sat at a table by the window and watched the skier's. He kept pointing at the little kids. When we were leaving, he went into the bathroom and when he came out he was asking where his cane was. (He always leaves it behind.) I told him he had it. When we went outside, he said again "Where's my cane?" He laughed cause he saw it in his hand :) He wanted to drive up further, so we drove up to Brighton and then came back home. Next week is his Birthday!

George was up by the front door picking stuff up. Since he didn't get a shower on Monday, and was half dressed, I had him get in the shower first. He was obsessed with his belt today when getting ready, but once he was ready I made him some lunch at home. I put the white bird feeder on the table and he was asking "How much does it cost, do we have to put quarters in it?" and that it was "more expensive on Sunday's". (Maybe he thought it was a parking meter? It is tall and thin.) After lunch he started on his last water color canvas, his hand was getting sore, so we quit for today. (He was saying he needed five of them, one for each member of the family. He has three done, one for each season.) We went for a walk up the street, it was colder than it looked. It was a good walk though and George didn't shuffle (Well, a couple times is all.) I fixed him some noodles when we came in.

Today after George was ready to go, we were going to go to lunch at Sushi Express but they closed soon so I took him to Anna's Cafe. I know he likes breakfast sometimes. It was funny cause I showed him he could choose from the breakfast menu or the lunch menu, he choose the strawberry waffle! He ate all but about two bites. We went to the pet store afterwards, he asked me where I was going and I showed him the card he choose, he said "Ohh ya." They had some big cats just sitting on top of boxes when we first walked in. He was asking how much they were. We saw birds, a rabbit, hamster's, snakes, spiders and birds. He liked to look at just the wood they use to put in the cages. When we got home I gave him a snack and he took a nap.

Today when I went in to see if George was up, it was hard to open the door. He had his floor lamp blocking the door, hmmm...He had a REALLY hard time waking up today, he just didn't want to get up. I didn't hear him up at night, maybe just one of those days. When he was finally up, I gave him something to eat and then we went grocery shopping. It's SO much easier to take him in his own wheel chair and push him, while he pushes the grocery cart. We had quite the discussion about me leaving and when I would come back and was I going to take my car, did he have to drive me home and who was going to stay over. He was saying that he needed to know who was going to stay over so he didn't lock them out. He said that he gotten woke up "In the middle of the night to let them in." I made him some dinner after our discussion. ;)

It was a 'George' day. I let him do his own thing but I was around too. We were going to go grocery shopping later on but it didn't happen, we'll go tomorrow. He was a little upset at night when Ryan came home. He was saying how no one told him Dennis was leaving. I reassured him everything was OK and that I would be staying here until he got back. I think after he talked about it he was OK.

George had a skype lunch with Sharon today. They were able to spend a lot of time together :) It ended up being kind of a dreary day. I fixed him some dinner before I had to leave to play bonko. (I won one of the boobie prizes.) So far I have been able to get George to bed around midnight.

I'm staying over at the house this Wednesday until Friday. Dennis and Trevor are in Reno for another ski competition.

George was...in a mood today. He wasn't too happy about the idea of going out today. I let him take a nap while I cleaned, vacuumed...When he woke up, I showed him his check that he needed to cash. "I don't want to go." I pushed him today, he hasn't been out since Wednesday! On the way to the bank, he handed me his check for me to cash it. I told him he had to sign it and take care of it, it was his check, he said "You need to change your name." We went to eat and then went for a drive before coming home and getting him in the shower. I hope he has a better night.

George woke up around 11:00-11:30 today. He wanted some oatmeal so I made oatmeal, waffles and coffee for breakfast/lunch. After lunch George had coffee and talked to Sharon on skype. He opened a package he got from Sharon today too :) He got a new belt, mitttens, animal magazines and Valentine decorations for the tree! Thanks Sharon :) He put those up and then we went for a drive up by the "Big homes" and then we went to Snowbird and hung out there for a bit. He wore his new warm mittens. We stopped at the activity center and said hi to Pamela (She's the one that helps him out when he goes up in the summer to sift for gemstones.) We ordered pizza and pasta tonight and he ate it all.
