HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
George was outside reading the paper when I pulled up. I came in, said hi and let him finish the paper. When he came in we went and got ready for the day. He went outside and picked some tomatoes and we had those with lunch. He wanted to eat at home so I made him some lunch and we ate outside. It’s a really nice day! We were looking at his rocks from Snowbird and he was interested in doing that but I checked, and they don’t open again until the summer. He made a comment on one of the rocks saying that it looked like a face; he said “See, eyes, nose and mouth.” He hand motioned driving and said that he wanted me to drive him to the mountains. We ended up at Brighton and I thought we could take a little walk along silver lake. We had to come home and George got in the shower.

When I came in today, George was still asleep. I let him know I was there and he got up in a little bit, got ready and then went outside. I had him trim the top off of some of the bushes. We came inside and got ready to talk to Sharon on skype. I made George what he wanted to eat and he and Sharon had lunch together. :) After wards I took him to the podiatrist and when the girl came out to take him back he said “You’re new” she laughed and said she had been there but hides in the back. When they were walking back she said “How are you doing?” and he said “Getting old.” They walked past one of the rooms, he looked in and said “Hello doc.” With a smile on his face. We went to Sugarhouse Park. They were having their first pumpkin races on the pond. It was pretty cool to watch, everyone was in a big pumpkin and had to race out to a turning point and go back. Most of them were wearing costumes. There were kids there feeding the birds. There were a lot of birds today and a couple cute little kids that made George laugh and smile.

George was up again until 3am, this time I guess he was looking for his wallet. Both he and Dennis looked for it. It was a mess when I came in, clothes and towels everywhere. It was found in his bedside table. He was still in his robe when I came over too. The weather is starting to get cool, and by the time he was ready to go it was getting kind of late so I chose for him today. I was showing him the Living Planet Aquarium website. He wasn’t to sure about that and said “I don’t care.” I told him if he didn’t care then that’s what we were going to do today. When we got there, he said he didn’t recognize it. (He said that with the pictures I was showing him online too). We were in Calypso café and he said “This is the first time I’ve been here.” He kept falling asleep when we were looking around. Maybe because it was dark, or maybe he was just tired from last night.

George was still asleep when I came over. He was in bed with robes, belts, jackets…I told him I was here and let him wake up. When he was ready he said he wanted to go to the mountains. We got something to eat and then went for a drive up big cottonwood canyon and some of guardsman’s pass, it was pretty today. It was a long drive and he fell asleep on the way back. He took a shower when he got home. (When Dennis came home he said that George didn’t get to bed until 3am this morning :/ )

It’s a nice day today :) George was sitting on the porch reading the mail when I came over today. We got on skype to talk to Sharon and he even had some coffee with her and something to eat. When he was done on skype, we went back to get him ready for the day. We saved some of the pumpkin seeds from his pumpkin the other day. We added some seasoning and baked them. When they were done I gave one to George, he didn’t like it. (He was sweeping the kitchen while they were getting ready.) We went for a walk and he just kept trying to ‘sweep’ with his cane. We came back and I got a broom so he could sweep the driveway.

George was asleep in his robe on the chair when I came over. I let him sleep for a few minutes. Dennis was home and said he woke up at 9am. After he woke up, we went back to his bathroom to get ready for the day. It was late when he was ready so I fixed George some lunch and we ate outside. We carved pumpkins afterwards, he did a really good job :) He drew the face on the pumpkin and carved it out too. I put it outside. When he was looking at it afterwards he said “Ya that looks pretty good.”

Oh my goodness!.....George was up sitting on the couch, he decided he wanted to go out to lunch “At the place right up here on the corner.” (Mt. Fugi) I told him they were closed so we went for Chinese at Mandarin Garden. I told him we were going shopping to pick up some things he needed. I think this will be our last shopping trip (Unless he says he wants to go.) I had him drive one of the carts and he just took off while I was getting some baggies. When I caught up with him he said “Where the hell did you go!?” He was upset and didn’t care what we got. He kept running into things. Not a good day at the store. He did help me pick out some pumpkins for us. He asked me why I was getting so many (2) I told him one was for him and one was for me. I explained that we were going to carve them. “Nah, I’m not gonna do that.” We’ll see…
He got in the shower when he got home.

When I came in, George was in his room making his bed. I told him that I was here and let him finish doing that. While he was getting ready, I cleaned up did some laundry and checked in on him. We went to Mt. Fugi for lunch, thanks Sharon! :) They are only open Friday and Saturdays now for lunch. He ordered eel. He liked it, I was worried :/ We drove over to the driving range but he didn’t feel like putting. I forgot we had to have our own putters. Maybe I’ll sneak them in my car and he’ll just have to do it. ;) We drove around the Sandy area and then went up to Silver Lake. We walked around a little bit and saw a Moose! When I showed him he said “So.” he did sit down and look at it for a bit. When we got home, George talked to Sharon on skype. It was neat to see the contrast of colors and the snow in the mountains. It was a nice day, A little cool in the shade but nice.

George got up around noon today. We were going to use the Mt. Fugi certificate today but when we got there the door was open but the lights were off and no one was there. I looked at the hours and the only time we can go is on Friday. We’ll try again this Friday; I’ll try to remember the times. We ended up going to Fugi instead. He needed to come home; he got in the shower today too. It must have been a good shower; he took a nap on his bed after wards.

When I came in, George was sitting at the table and just finishing a sweet roll and some grapes. He said he wasn’t hungry for lunch, maybe later. After he was ready for the day, he watched the tree excavators taking out one of the neighbor’s trees. I think they have been there since Friday! He sat down and fell asleep. I had asked him to put his shoes on but he just waved me away. I let him sleep for awhile. Well it turned out being for more than I thought. He slept for a long time! Dennis came home and said that his sleep schedule is out of whack. I guess a couple nights ago, he didn’t even go to bed. I did get him something to eat when he did wake up.

It snowed last night! There is snow on the mountains and Dennis and Trevor went skiing yesterday! George was sitting at the table in his robe when I came over today. It took him awhile to get up and go get dressed. He fell asleep on his bed when he was getting dressed. Dennis brought home some Greek spaghetti for lunch. George had some of that, he seemed pretty tired today. After lunch I got out the birdfeeder and the paints. He was not interested! He said he had a headache, I gave him an ibuprofen. I said if he wanted to sleep he should go lay down on the couch. I covered him up and let him sleep.

It’s rainy, cloudy and a little cold today. When I came over George was upset about something, not sure what. I let him talk until he got it all out. He was pointing up towards the mountains so we went up to the Snowbird/Alta area again, it was soo pretty the other day. You couldn’t even see the mountains from the house so we decided to go see what the weather was like up there. It was pretty up there again today even though the weather was bad. He was pointing things out to me and talking about how pretty it was. He was saying that “We were up here the other day but we didn’t go this far.” When we got home I fixed him some noodles and he asked me to show him how far we went on the Wasatch Front poster that he has framed in the dining room. He said “Oh, we went a long way.” He talked to Sharon on skype and was playing with the stuffed animals too, it was cute. He was laughing at the heart that Sharon was showing him. “She must like that a lot.”

It’s October already and it’s still warm outside! George was lying on the couch when I came over. After he was up and ready for the day, I made him some lunch at home, he ate outside on the patio. He loves Sharon’s soup! After some thought (And looking at the cards) he decided he wanted to go to the cemetery. He said “We haven’t been there for awhile.” I was waiting in my car and he came out with the picture of Elise and David with him and the cards we were looking at. I asked him why he brought those but he didn't tell me. He kept falling asleep on the drive there. We stopped at Smiths first and picked up some flowers, I asked him how many he wanted to get, he said four. After the cemetery we drove around the avenues a little and up towards Emigration Canyon. He fell asleep on the drive home but took a shower when we got back.
