Sharon and David are home from their camping trip. We talked for a little bit and showed George my video from the flash mob at the Arts Festival. We looked up sites about hot air balloons, plane rides and helicopter rides. He wasn’t too sure about the hot air balloon, but I think he would like to go on a plane ride. :) He choose to go to lunch at the Corner Bakery up on Foothill Drive and then to go and get his haircut. After he got his hair cut a guy named Tien walked in and George said “I remember you, I used to live right here in Holladay.” Tien used to go to the barber shop when the guy before Yao was there. It’s cool that he remembered him. The weather today was overcast at times and a little rainy.

George was in the backyard on the patio when I came over today. I had him go in and shave and when he was ready (After A LOT of coaxing) I mentioned Park City and the ski jumpers to him. He didn't say anything so I told him that was where we were going today. He's been mentioning it all year! When we finally left he said "Ya know what? I don't think I have enough money." We drove up to Park City, he didn't say anything on the way up and when we got to the Olympic Park, I told him what we were going to do, he didn't want to get out! When I asked him if he wanted to see the jumpers he said "Nah". (We did anyway ;) ) We had lunch up there while we watched the jumpers; there weren't very many today, more came as time went on though. After lunch and a few more jumps he was ready to go..."OK let's go, I've had enough." Weird huh?? He fell asleep on the way home but got in the shower when we got back.

George was walking out of the kitchen when I came in today. He said “I need to file my income taxes right away.” I had him shave and get ready for the day; I only had a little while to stay with him today, I had an appointment. He showed me what he wanted to eat and we ate outside on the balcony. It was a nice day and he was sitting outside when I left. I told him that Sharon and David would be coming on Sunday.

George was sitting out on the porch when I pulled up. (It looked like he waved me away like oh no here she comes again to make me do things ;) ) He seemed really tired when getting ready and wanting to sit down a lot too. He was getting distracted, picking things up off the floor, starting on one thing then doing another. Then he started doing things in George time ;) (I think that’s great that he still wants to do things for himself rather than relying on someone else for ‘help’. He just needs to be reminded once in a while.) I had him vacuum a small area in his room and while he was doing that Mamiyo and Itso (sp?) came to visit!? :) George got mad at me for turning off the vacuum; he was hitting me in the feet with it. I told him he didn’t need to vacuum and to just go and visit. He gets mad or confused if he gets interrupted while he is doing something else. I thought he would like to see them! I made them all lunch and then we looked at the pond and visited. He fell asleep. Betty, the massage therapist from Care Source came today too while Mamiyo and Itso were visiting. She will come back next week. The only thing George commented on while they were here was his rock box. "Those are from Utah." Other than that he was pretty quiet. He doesn’t want to walk hardly at all and is really tired and just seems ‘put out’. Busy but quiet day. Sharon and David will be here on Sunday.

George just wants to ‘lay down’ today. Finally when he was ready to go, I told him that Park City was having the jumpers but he didn’t want to do that today. (Weird huh?) He said “Lets go up there, I really like that...” We went up to Snowbird and had lunch outside; it was cool weather up there. After we were done I asked him if he wanted to do the ‘rock’ thing. We went inside and the girl that was there last year was there again this year. He didn’t want to do it today; he said “I have rocks at home.” We walked around a little bit then drove down and went to the pet store. It’s under a new name I forgot what it’s called now. He looked at the crabs for the longest time. When we left there we came home and he took a shower.
(I forgot to take a picture of Snowbird.)

George was reading the paper by the window when I came over today. About a half an hour after I got there, a car pulled up and he didn’t know who it was. He saw that there were flowers for him. He smiled, he really liked them. I kept showing him who it was from and he kept reading the instructions instead. Finally he looked up and said “Oh, it’s from Sharon and David” and smiled. :) He had me count how many there were. We went to Hog Wallow today. I thought it would be nice to sit outside and it’s almost like being in the mountains ;) Sharon called on skype just as we were leaving; I’m glad she caught us so she could see George and wish him Happy Fathers Day in case we weren’t able to talk to her later. It was a nice day to sit outside and have lunch. George had 2 drinks too and then we came in and he watched a pool game. He came home and took a nap. (I forgot my phone today, so no pictures) :(

Wednesday June 15, 2011

George was tired again today. He just kind of wanted to do his own thing. He had just gotten food out of the fridge when I came over so I made him some lunch and we sat outside and ate. He kept wanting to fall asleep, and took awhile to get going, he had to be reminded and coaxed to do each thing of his ‘routine’. Even though he is soo tired, he always stops and goes to the bathroom before we leave. :) We didn’t get going until late but at least he got out. I hope he wakes up a little more :/ I don’t know if it’s from sleep, or what. We ended up going for a drive and then walked at Wheeler Farm and sat on a bench and watched the kids, birds and ducks. He was pretty quiet today. It seemed like we were gone a lot longer than we were today. We got home and I made him something to eat, he ate outside on the porch.

Monday June 13, 2011

George was asleep when I came over. He was really tired and even fell asleep after shaving. Maybe he had too much to drink last night? He was un-arrousable (Is that even a word?) So I just let him sleep for a bit while I cleaned up. I made coffee too thinking the smell of it would wake him up. It wasn't too long before he was up again and finishing getting ready. He ate lunch outside on his new furniture set! He even shared his lunch with the fish :/ I got it out ;) He kept throwing food in the fish pond saying "It's OK, if they don't eat it, it will just sit there..." It was a relaxing day and he spent a lot of time looking at the fish. We went to Target after he was ready; it took him a long time to get going. He was still pretty tired all day. We bought some bird food and some new combs. He lost all of the ones he had. (I was cleaning them all in a cup; don't know what happened to them.) When we came out of Target the weather was sunny and nice, it was overcast and kind of windy earlier. We drove up the canyons and sat by the stream (More like a raging river) George found some rocks that he brought home. He wanted to drive up further; we drove up the mountain and stopped at Silver Lake. There was too much snow up there to walk around but it was pretty. We drove up to Brighton and saw a few beavers. He fell asleep a couple times on the way down. He sat outside when we got home. It looks like it might rain. It did.
(There are 10 more pictures on photobucket of the mountains.)

George had a podiatrist appointment today. I missed the last one :/ His next one is scheduled for August. By the time he was ready to go, it was kind of late to go and get something to eat, so I made lunch at home and then we went to the appointment. (I asked him after if it felt nice, he opened his eyes big and said “Oh ya!”). Since it was such a nice day, I stopped and got some drinks and we went to Sugarhouse Park. There is a bench by the pond that we used to sit at and the water is up so high we couldn’t sit there. We sat by the pond and watched the ducks and the birds, it was kind of windy. We came home and he talked to Sharon and Quincey on skype.

George was asleep on the chair by the window when I came over today. It’s a nice day and the flowers look pretty. :) His Iris’s are out too. He was quiet when he was getting ready. When he was done getting ready, I asked him what he wanted to do today. He pointed towards the mountains. I told him that I had folding chairs in the trunk and asked him if he would like to go get something to eat and take it to the mountains. He said he would. We went to KFC and picked up some food and headed up towards Alta. We stopped at a couple places to find ‘the’ spot. He didn’t like the ones I chose. We ended up at Alta by the ski lodge. We pulled into a spot there, and the view was really pretty. It’s June and there is still lots of snow! It was windy and cold, glad I brought jackets. We watched a skier hike all the way to the top of the mountain. We saw a couple others ski down too. It got cold so we had a nice drive down the mountain. It was really pretty.
George had dinner with Sharon and David on skype ;)
(There's 5 more pictures on photobucket of today. And I'll add the 3 from the other day too)

When I came in today, George was asleep on the couch in his robe. I gave him a few minutes to wake up while I straightened up a bit and talked to him about the weekend. I gave him the option of taking a shower this morning or this afternoon (Since it didn’t get it done last week.) He got in the shower; I cleaned up while he was in the shower. When he was all ready to go, he talked to Sharon on skype and then he chose to go to Phong Phu Restaurant. The girl there gave us some flowers that she made to take with us. :) I put the folding chairs in the trunk to take with us and go to the mountains afterwards but when we left the restaurant, it was really windy and cloudy. It looked like there was a sand storm. We came home and George poked around his plants and sat on his new bench. “OK let’s go inside now.” He painted his last tulip and then took a nap on the couch.
(I have pictures but blogger said it couldn't add 'due to internal error.') I'll try later.

George was sitting outside on the porch when I pulled up. It’s a nice sunny day :) I came over a little earlier and needed to leave early today too. He was pretty quiet again; He came inside and combed his hair, brushed his teeth and just did his regular routine. I fixed him some coffee, and cleaned up while he was doing that and then I got him some lunch and we ate outside. While we were sitting outside he was looking at his plant on the deck and said something to the effect of 'make sure you take care of it'.

It’s June! Does that mean warmer weather now? :) When I came over today, George was still in bed! He was awake in his robe and lying on his bed. He didn’t talk much today. I don’t like to either when I first get up though. Since it was late, I had him choose something to eat while I had him make some coffee. It was a nice day today; we sat outside and had lunch, towards the afternoon it was getting a little windy, but still a good day. I had to leave early to do some errands. I’ll have to leave early on Friday too. (Maybe he had been up earlier and was taking a nap?)
