When I came over today George was dressed (Except his shoes) but asleep. After he got ready, we went to cash his check then he wanted to go to Sushi Express for lunch. I asked him after lunch if he wanted to go to the cemetery, he said he did. We drove to the downtown Smiths and got some flowers then drove up to the cemetery. He's always so sweet about who should get flowers. When he was out of flowers, we drove around and he showed me some of the grave sites. When we came home he said "Oh Thank you, Thank you" then he went in the kitchen and made us both a drink :) cute.

April 26, 2010It was actually a nice day today! George at one point was outside looking at his first bloom on the cherry tree. He was already to go today, shoes on and everything. Ryan was out digging to put a new sprinkler system in and he couldn’t figure out who he was. “I just want to know who his parents are”. I brought out pictures; I think he finally figured it out. George wasn’t sure what he wanted to do today, I asked him if he wanted to go to the zoo and he said “I haven’t been there in a long time!” He said “Ya let’s go” I’m glad he wanted to go :) we had a good time and spent a lot of time at the zoo. We saw the new baby elephant; he was waving at a monkey, lots of cute things. We had lunch up at the zoo too.
Weight today was 92 lbs. BP was 126/66

It was still cold and yucky weather. The sun popped out here and there. I fixed lunch at home
and after wards George finished his painting. It turned out really good. He was so into doing it that Dennis and Trevor were coming in and out and it didn’t even faze him. He just kept painting away. :) We got on Skype and talked to Sharon today too. Trevor and his friend were building a ramp off of Dennis’ truck and were doing jumps in the rain. George kept saying “Crazy kids”.

Today was supposed to be a rainy and cold day in the afternoon. It was still nice when I came
over so we hurried and got ready to go. I thought we could beat the storm that was coming in. George wanted to go to the Jasmine today for 
lunch, and on the way it started raining, once inside the restaurant it started pouring! It looked like a rain forest. After lunch we went home and started on one of his paintings.

George was asleep on the couch when I came over. He was dressed though ;) I asked him if he wanted to go and buy some plants for the backyard, he said “Not today”. I asked him what he wanted to do; he said he wanted to go to the mountains. I put the folding chairs in the car just in case he wanted to sit by a stream or something. After he got ready, and we were in the car he ‘pointed’ where he wanted to go. We went to lunch first and ended up at Mandarin garden (It used to be Kowloon Café). Afterwards we ended up at Flat Iron Mesa Park instead. He didn’t want to go to the mountains after all. We went for a walk then sat and watched the kids play, and people walk around and just enjoyed the weather. He liked the view. Before we left, we did some exercises by the bench.
His weight today was 93 lbs. and BP was 118/64 (That was after exercising! I took it when we came home). He was watching Trevor build his jump outside when I left.

When I came over today I couldn’t find George! He was sitting outside on the swing :) I sat out
there with him for a minute then he said he hadn’t had anything to eat. He went in to find something. I had him make some coffee and I made him some lunch. After lunch, he talked to Sharon on Skype for awhile. He liked it today. Sharon couldn’t hear but when he saw her he said “Hi Sharon, its Dad, How are you? I’m OK”. When he was done talking to Sharon, we went 
outside and planted his last plant. He did some gardening in the yard too. He asked me to find some weed killer, so I looked all over in the garage and I told him there wasn’t any, but ya know he had to look too. He was looking all over and pulling out all sorts of things. Dennis said he has been real active this week. Today I had to pretty much follow him around. He was by the pond and poking around with a stick, I was asking him not to get to close. I told him it was dangerous where he was standing. He said “If I fall, I won’t drown”. I finally got him away from that area.

Today George came to the door in his robe. I was just walking up when he opened the door. It was late and he needed to eat. I made some lunch at home (Cause I knew it would take him awhile to get ready, and we needed to plant) and then we planted the plants he bought on
Monday. It took him quite awhile to get going though. We went outside and he was going to sit down. He said “Just give me a minute”. I told him he hadn’t done anything yet. He had to do his thing today; he wouldn’t listen to what I had to say. You know how he can be ;) He was looking in the shed for tools, I guess my little shovel wasn’t enough ;) Once he finally had the tools he needed
, and after some coaxing, he helped me plant his plants and flowers. He has one more plant to plant, and we will do that on Friday.
I forgot to do his weight and BP on Monday. When I took it today his Weight was 90 lbs. But I know that’s not right. He was about 95-96 last week. His BP was 118/63

George wanted to drive up 7200 So. He wanted to find someplace for lunch. He asked me to pull into the ‘shopping center’ we ended up at Carl’s Café there. They are only open for Breakfast and Lunch. (My Dad goes there a lot.) He liked it. He was looking at the building across the street and was telling me how many people had gone in and out since we had been there. We went to Home Depot after wards to pick up some plants to plant in the yard. George picked out some plants and two flowers. We were at Home Depot for awhile. We will plant on Wednesday.

This picture was taken last Friday. When I was over, Dennis had just bought some shaving cream. I put some on a piece of paper and got out a paintbrush, George and I 'painted' with the shaving cream. When he was done, he looked at it from all angles and said it looked like a sandstorm. He said he saw a smiley face in the middle of the 'sandstorm' too. He placed it 'just right' on the table.

I came over a little later today. We went to lunch at ihop. (They have free lunch for seniors from 2-10, and it was close). He really liked it! He had a strawberry crepe, strange choice for him huh? He said “If I eat this everyday I’ll get fat” The waitress walked by and he chuckled and whispered to me “She’s big; I hope she didn’t hear me”. They leave the coffee on the table. He had about 3 cups. We went to Cactus and Tropica’s afterwards. We looked around then sat on a bench to people watch, we did leg exercised too.

We went to lunch at Mt. Fugi; George was asking the waitress if he was there last week. He
thought they remodeled or something. We went to the bank afterwards to cash his check and saw Tom and Fran. George talked to Sharon today on the computer. I stayed over afterwards and watched a movie. George got really mad at Ryan today! Poor guy. He gets confused of who the kids are sometimes. He’s been out in the yard a lot lately.

So, today was cleaning day. After lunch I asked George if he wanted to vacuum or dust, he chose to dust. It was cute cause he was dusting his
carpet ;) He did a really good job at dusting though. We did his laundry too. He kept asking if we were going to send it out (His laundry). It took him awhile to realize that WE were going to do his laundry. Hisweightwas96 lbs. and his BP was 143/63.

Today George wanted to go to a drive in the mountains; we ended up going to Park City. On the way up we actually saw people on a sled being led by sled dogs; it was really cool to see that. We drove up to the Olympic Park but nothing was going on there, so we drove up into Park City, and then drove back to Salt Lake. We had a late lunch at a new place on foothill drive called Corner Café. There was a girl there that thought we looked alike, and thought I was his daughter! After lunch we took the rental car back and picked up my car. After I was done with my day with him, I stayed over for a bit (Since I was there already) to make sure everything was OK. Ryan came over, made George a steak for dinner, he didn’t like it. He was in the kitchen pouring his whisky on a plate and putting the steak on the plate with the whisky then in a pan to ‘marinate’ it. He almost put the pan in the microwave. Joy’s dog was over too, he really does not like that dog! He went to bed around 10:00. I watched a movie then went home. Ryan was over too.

Today it was snowing! I came over with a rental car (I’m getting mine fixed). I asked George if he liked it, he said “It’s an ugly color, I don’t like it”. It is a pretty ugly nauseating gold color. George was ready right as Carla the physical therapist came to see him for one last time. He did exercises with her, and then when she left I made lunch at home and after lunch I had George play with his Wii. He tried bowling and then golf.
(Dennis and Trevor are out of town in Ca. for a ski competition, Ryan and Blake have been helping out).

After George was ready to go he said he wanted to go for a drive. We went for a drive and then had lunch at ihop. We were in a complex with a few places to choose from and he said “Let’s go there”. I don’t know if he remembers going before or if he just liked the building. It was nice though cause he got his meal for free! It’s free everyday from 2-10pm for seniors. That was an added bonus.
His weight today was about 93 lbs. (I think). I’m not too sure about that scale anymore. His BP was in the 130/60 range.
